Board of Directors & Advisors
Pastor Jim Way – President of Capernaum Ministries and Pastor of Capernaum Church in Indian Lake Estates, Past President of Indian Lake Estates, an eight thousand half-acre residential and commercial community. Jim served as Executive Director of Renewed Life Ministries for twenty-four years. Renewed Life Ministries involved over five-hundred Churches from Palm Beach County through Indian River County in various outreaches, conferences, leadership meetings, etc. Fourteen Senior Pastors served on Renewed Life Ministries Board, representing close to forty-thousand parishioners on the east coast of Florida. Jim was a Management Consultant to National Manufacturing Industries for twenty-five years before he was called to full-time ministry.
Dr. Fred Shipman – Vice President, Capernaum Ministries and Pastor of Winners Church in West Palm Beach, FL for the last twelve years, with an attendance close to three thousand. Fred served as Assistant Superintendent, State of Florida, for the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, and serve twenty-three years as Senior Pastor of various Churches in Oklahoma before moving to West Palm Beach.
Pastor Shan Wood – Acting Secretary/Treasurer, Capernaum Ministries, and Pastor of First Christian Church Orlando for eight years. Shan served as Senior Pastor for five years of the Stafford County Christian Church in Fredericksburg, VA. Shan also was President of Lake Aurora Christian Assembly, a large youth camp and retreat center in Central Florida. Previous to ministry, Shan served five years as a Naval Helicopter Air Crewman.
Pastor Harold Armstrong – Teaching Pastor of Journey Christian Church, a position he took last year, and Past President of Florida Christian College in Kissimmee, FL for six years. Harold served as Senior Pastor for thirty-one years and as Secretary for the North American Association of Christian Churches.
Pastor Roger Ball – Pastor of Emmanuel Church in Vero Beach, FL for the past eleven years and served as Associate Pastor for eight years prior. Previous to his work in the ministry, Roger was President of Adventure Inc., advertising and public relations company, and President of Market Source Florida, a marketing consulting firm. Roger served as Vice President and General Manager of Atlanta Communications and owner of WTTB Radio in Vero Beach.
Mr. Allan Casey – Polk County Attorney, graduated with a law degree from the University of Florida, Allan has been an Attorney in Polk County for 39 years. He is the past President of the Board of Directors of “Pride of Polk County”, an organization which educates parents and children concerning the abuse of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco, focusing on prevention. Allan has served on numerous civic organization Boards in the Polk County area. Allan is an attending member and past Board member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven.
Pastor Phil Cook – President of Wounded Warriors, an affiliate of Capernaum Ministries, located in Cleveland, Tennessee. Wounded Warriors is a restoration ministry to Christian Leaders and Pastors. Phil served as the Western Pennsylvania Regional District Overseer for the Church of God and Member of the Board of Directors and Men’s Ministry Director for the State of Florida office of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church. He pastored a total of thirty-four years. Phil is currently on a leave of absence.
Pastor Rick Duffield – Pastor of Church On The Rock for the past eight years. Rick is President of Nation-Wide Realty Solutions and Duffield Enterprises, LLC, real estate investment, and marketing firms. Rick has been an active entrepreneur for over twenty years.
Pastor Jack Hilligoss – Pastor of HighPoint Church of God in Lake Wales, FL for fourteen years. Jack has served as a Pastor since January of 1986. In 1991 He moved to Fort Lauderdale, working with 19 different ethnic groups in the inner-city. Jack currently serves on the Board of the Lake Wales Care Center.
Pastor Troy Miller– Dr. Troy Lee Miller, 63, passed away Friday, Aug. 5, 2011 Troy pastored United Community Fellowship (formerly Potters House) in Wildwood, FL for twenty-three years. He served seventeen years as a full-time evangelist and lead singer for the Miller Brothers singing group, traveling across the nation, appearing on T.V., Radio, and large outreach venues. Troy also served as President of Turn Around Project (PAT), a ministry of recovery affiliated with the Mid-Florida Coalition for the Homeless. Not only was Troy a member of the Board of Directors for Capernaum Ministries, but he was a cherished friend. We will miss Troy for a long time.
Pastor Walter Nelson – Pastor of First Assembly of God in Lake Wales, FL for the past four years. Walter began his Ministerial career as a Youth Pastor in 1989, and served as Youth and / or Music Pastor until January of 2002 when Walter became a Missionary in Dominica, West Indies for three years. He was also involved with street, community, and public schools, Evangelism, Leadership training, and Discipleship training. In November of 2007, he filled his current position. Walter received his Bachelors Degree in May of 1998, and most recently completed his Masters Degree in Ministerial Leadership, December 2010.
Pastor Roscoe Williams – Pastor of Greater St. Thomas Holiness Church in Lake Wales, FL for the past nineteen years and prior to this, served as Bishop of Church of The Living God Upon The Rock. Roscoe enlisted in the Florida Army National Guard in May 1975 and still is in active duty. Roscoe received his Masters degree in Business Administration in 2002 from Warner Southern College, Lake Wales, and FL. His involvement with his community in leadership positions is numerous.
Corporate Advisors
Mr. Jim Beckley – President, Rivergold, Inc. Agri-Business involved in Citrus Plantations, Harvesting, and Marketing. Community Board Director, Seacoast Bank, Indian River County. Jim is President of Life For Youth Ranch, Vero Beach, a seven-hundred per day youth camp and Retreat Center.
Dr. Harold Ray – Pastor, Redemptive Life Fellowship, West Palm Beach, FL for past seventeen years. Dr. Ray served as Vice President of Renewed Life Ministries for six years and is Chairman and CEO of the National Center for Faith Based Initiative.
Pastor Greg Sempsrott – Pastor of First Church of God, Vero Beach, FL since 2005. First Church is the largest church in Vero Beach, which includes Masters Academy – Christian education from Pre-K3 through 12. Greg also served as Associate Pastor for three years and then Senior Pastor of Church in the Gardens, West Palm Beach for eighteen years. For many years, Greg was an integral part of Renewed Life Ministries.
Dr. Keith Thomas – Pastor, Cottage Hill Baptist Church in Mobile, AL. Cottage Hill is a pillar Church in the Southern Baptist Convention, the largest Protestant denomination in America. Keith served eleven years as Pastor of First Baptist Church, West Palm Beach, FL and President of the Southern Baptist Conference, Florida. Keith was President of Renewed Life Ministries from 1997 to 2002.
Capernaum Ministries Board cumulatively has a significant background (235 total years) in ministry and Pastoral leadership as well as business, military and entrepreneurial expertise.
